chuck e. cheese

I had so many chuck e. cheese parties when I was kid, that this year was the year for Ardo to experience his very own. This isn't Ardos first time at chuck e. cheese and because of youtube both my boys watch chuck e. adventures on youtube so not only are these guys fans of chuck e., but they love Helen, Pascually, Jasper and Munch. Yeah Pascually....I swear I never knew the Italian drummer had a name. Description of Photo Ardo had the best time! This was our smallest party to date, but our close friends and close cousins were there to celebrate Ardo turning 6. Chuck E. Cheese taught me a bit about patience too. Usually I'm used to going in and setting up anytime I want, but at Chuck E. Cheese I had to work on their schedule. It was fine tho and reminded me that I don't have control over everything and I can wait. Isn't that what we always remind our kids. Description of Photo I wanted to make Ardo's party, even at Chuck E. Cheese where I know they usually do everything I still wanted it to be as special as possible. We had sprinkles cupcakes. I tried making him a small little sign, it didnt come out quite as I wanted but we made it work. I played off the pizza theme so as favors for the kids, my sister and I made them these pizza piñatas. We put candy inside and an easy open top. These took 3 days to make but we loved the way they came out and the kids really loved them too. Description of Photo Description of Photo Description of Photo I found this vintage Chuck E. Cheese shirt on Etsy for Ardo. When it arrived it was just a little bit short, and I was gonna have him wear a different shirt, but once I put it on Ardo that was it for him. He wouldn't let me take it off of him. He loved it so much. I've since given it to James because its just too small, but that's fine because James loves Chuck E. too. Description of Photo Love my sweet boy!

happy friday

What a busy weekend I have coming up. Tomorrow we are celebrating Ardo's 6th birthday (eventho his actual birthday is on the 25th) at Chuck E. Cheese. This is my very first Chuck E. Cheese party and I'm so excited! When my sister Marcy and I were kids we always had our parties at Chuck E. Cheese. I love that both my boys love Chuck E. Cheese but having a birthday party there just feels full circle for me. Can't wait to share more! How do you like the changes I've made around the blog? Sharing more on that very soon too. Have a Happy Friday Friends!

Saturday the boys and I went to the Long Beach Aquarium. Sometimes I don't realize how much they are growing up, considering the tens of thousands of snacks I get them on any given day. But then we go over to the Aquarium and these boys show me their independence and its so wonderful. No one to nurse, stroller is optional, they only thing we are still "working on" with James is that pesky (actually not so pesky sometimes) diaper. While I don't love changing diapers, how come kids tell you they have to go to the restroom seconds before they literally need to go? WHY?! Diapers can be a little convenient...but I know, we're working on James.

We haven't had a trip to the aquarium in a little bit so the boys were very interested. We stared at the sea horses for a solid 10 minutes.

It was so cute and funny and my boys felt so close to the animals. Another Sea Lion just bathed in the sun and the boys watched and watched.

Snack time at the Aquarium, okay guys this is not at all sponsored but I just want to share how much I LOVE these Snack in a Box containers for snacks. I thought maaaybe Ardo was a little too old for them, but not at all. You can fit quite a bit in them, and they are easy to clean and easy to use and they seal. Green for Ardo and Orange for James because that's their favorite colors.

After snacks we checked out the sharks then this shark came showing his teeth...ummm just a little bit scary!

Saturday was a great day!

5 years old: flashback

Hi guys, so I don't want to go crazy trying to catch my life up but if there's something I want to share, I'd say Thursdays TBT and Friday FBF are perfect for it.This is one of those things.

Last year Ardo turned 5. I had so many emotions about my baby turning 5. It's so weird because 2,3,4 I was totally fine with, but 5 was a whole new thing. Maybe because I knew the next chapter was going to start, that being kindergarten? And kindergarten has been a whole new world for us (hours of homework for a 5 year old is not the biz). The day of Ardo's 5th birthday I woke up ready to start the day, and I had a text from my sister (and business partner) with a little movie. I started watching and my sister had made me a video of 5 years of Ardo. Okay so I probably haven't made this a big deal, but I am absolutely NOT a crier. You know those people that watch a commercial or a sad movie and just bawl. Yeah that's totally not me. I just don't do it, and it's weird because I can be very passionate and angry and super happy, but crying just doesn't connect with me unless I guess it's worthy. So I started to watch this movie and it was so sweet and then as the little mid-videos went on and as I watched Ardo grow, I really got emotional and all the emotions of being a mom and surviving 5 years just rushed me. In 5 years I now had another child and two times the bedrest, and two times the nursing and just how much it all meant to me. Every thought came over me and I cried. Also I mean how amazing is my sister. She took so much time making sure that I also had a gift on this momentous birthday. So with all that, please enjoy this video and Happy Friday!

lemon shower

Last weekend I helped one of my best friends and cousin in laws with her Lemon Themed baby shower. Mai's baby girl on the way last name is Lemon and when she became pregnant, I so hoped she would go with a Lemon theme (cause adorbs!) so when she did, I was so excited! I haven't blogged in awhile so I haven't been able to really talk about the shop my sister and I opened called the paper mouse shop. We opened this shop last September and are really having fun creating new products and just new banners. I asked Mai if I could be in charge of the dessert table, she said yes, and I had so much fun creating a simple clean table with a rustic touch. Description of Photo Description of Photo These white tin cake stands I bought at world market for James' first birthday have been used so many times already. I love when you can really make party decorations stretch and get the most use out of a $10 cake stand. Description of Photo I love so much these galvanized cake stands also from world market. You guys world market is just amazing, and I suggest you go....all the time! You never know the new products they're gonna have but they always do and I can always find what I'm looking for. Description of Photo I love cake pops and cupcakes but I really wanted a dessert I hadn't seen before on a dessert table. I started brain storming and googling and somehow cinnamon rolls popped into my head. I knew I wanted to figure out a way to add them. Mai is amazing because she really trusted me with the dessert table. I bought cinnamon rolls from cinnabon and they were so yummy. The venue Mai had her baby shower had a kitchen so it was really easy to just warm them up a little and put them out. Even without being warmed they were pretty good. Description of Photo I was so excited to make this lemon pom pom garland. I'm trying to get better at making pom poms so I can add them to our shop. I appreciate the practice and really love the way it came out. Description of Photo And my simple cake topper. We are beyond excited for baby lemon to arrive!

Well I'm brainstorming a new name. I will be back very soon, I just wanted to dip my feet in a new blog post and say hello. HELLO!
