happy birthday ardo!

On Friday my sweetie pie little guy, turns 3. I've been a little emotional this week, thinking where I was with him 3 years, trying so hard not to deliver him early. I sat in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks wondering what this little guy would be like. Now 3 years later, he's just an amazing human being. He's so so sweet! I probably say he is sweet once a day, but honestly he really is. He loves to cuddle and give kisses, my sister and I will refer to him as a sour patch kid because he is a kid afterall so sooometimes he is sour, but almost immediately after, he's a sweetie again! Saturday we had a big birthday party for him. I like to think of it as his last hurrah before becoming a big brother. He had such an amazing time, and I'm going to do a post on his birthday and my stress in a couple days. But for now, I few throwbacks of my sweet little guy. I know I say he's sweet a lot but he really is, he's so lovable. Eventho now when I ask him something or just tell him something he tells me "WHAT!?!?!" I'm not sure what I'm saying that's so shocking but to him it is. We love you Ardie. Happy 3rd Birthday! Description of Photo Description of Photo Description of Photo

Description of Photo Description of Photo Description of Photo Description of Photo Description of Photo For the last few years on Easter we have a little Easter egg hunt with Logan and Oliver's family. This year was no different. Except just like I mentioned in my Easter egg dying post, Ardo was super excited to hunt for eggs. He knew what he needed to do and he was ready! We had beautiful weather, and actually eventho some not so great things had happened the night before, we had a pretty good day. I wore a dress that I've been dying to wear since the last week of March 2011. It's the baby shower dress I never got to wear because when I had my first baby shower I was diagnosed with preterm labor and I spent my Saturday and the rest of the week in the hospital. Since then the dress has been hanging in my closet and on Easter I thought you know, now is the time to wear it! So I did! My amazing pregnancy spanx underneath of course. Oh man you guys, is there anything better than pregnancy spanx?? I think not! Okay so back to Easter, our hostesses sons hid the eggs for all the kids. They were really sweet and did a big kid side and small kids side. Once our egg hunt was over we snuck over to the big kids side and Jerry helped Ardo out getting a few more eggs. Description of Photo My mom goes just a little overboard for Easter (or any holiday, birthday, wednesday...jk). She gave Ardo a large Easter basket filled with goodies. I thought she was done with the gift giving but when we arrived at our Easter home, she had one more gift for him, oh and this fishing game has been on ever since. Description of Photo When all the egg hunting was done Ardo tried to climb the trees like the big boys. He didn't make it very far but he tried. Description of Photo p.s. Our little guy is turning 3 at the end of the week and I'm feeling all kinds of emotional about it. Even with a baby on the way, he's still my baby.

play date

Description of Photo How do I start this post, lets see, well, okay here goes, through blogs I met a girl named Erika from Life Unfluffed a while back. Actually we sponsored the same blog at the same time and I clicked over to her blog and loved what I read and sponsored her too. Erika does blog design so I asked her to tweak my blog a little bit (very soon she will be tweaking this blog again, it really needs an update). I followed her on instagram and she mentioned she would be doing Christmas card designing this year as well so I worked with her again. Erika is so patient and sweet, I really enjoyed working with her. A few months ago I thought I noticed Erika moved to Southern California but I wasn't sure, and we weren't friends friends, we just worked together a couple of times and I knew what I knew about her from her blog. Then late last month, I noticed Erika put a post about having a hard time meeting new people in Southern California, it was really funny and I thought wait a tic, I live in Southern California and I'm kinda awesome and I love making friends with moms. Even better Ardo and Eloise (Erika's oldest daughter) are only a month apart! Erika also has Hazel too and she is such a sweetie.
So I sent her an email. I assured her I wasn't a crazy stalker and even if I was, I was pregnant, and would be easy to outrun. I am happy to report Erika and I had a great time, I'm planning on many more playdates and it's just nice hanging with another mom, especially another mom with two little ones. Cheers to new friends. Description of Photo Description of Photo Our playdate ended with lunch at Chick-fil-A, the kids played even more there too! This picture was supposed to be of Ardo and Eloise together but you know how 2 year olds can be. Eloise instead is playing in the chairs and Ardo and Henry and front and center! Description of Photo The only picture missing is a picture of Erika and I. We need to take one next time! Maybe Eloise will take it for us!

egg dying

Description of Photo My mom and sisters are the best. I've been super busy lately with Ardo's 3 birthday party prep, I completely spaced on Easter egg dying. I had a feeling Ardo would be much more interested this year, but I don't know where my head has been. Actually that's a lie, I know exactly where it's been being pregnant and party planning, never had that combination before but I don't know if I would recommend it. My mom and sisters were on it tho making sure Ardo dyed some eggs. He had the best time. He used the little tools that came with the kits for a little bit but then realized his hands worked even better. Then when his hands were dyed, he became the hulk and smashed an egg. I think it's really sweet Jerry is teaching Ardo about comic books and characters. Some people don't want their little girls to be into princesses, I wasn't sure how into super heros I wanted Ardo to be. Jerry had a different idea and now we have a balance. Anyway back to egg dying, it's a little amazing to me watching him and seeing how much he's growing, just last Easter he barely even cared about the eggs and this Easter he was so so excited. Description of Photo Description of Photo Description of Photo I love this picture because he kept making this face and looking really closely at the eggs and we started calling him a mad scientist. 20 :: a little pregnancy talk

Half way there folks, 20 weeks and counting. I am so happy to have hit the half way point in my pregnancy. 20 weeks down and hopefully 18-20 more to go. I'm realistic that this baby might come a little before his due date but, really, all I am hoping is he is healthy and him and my uterus don't conspire to put his mama in the hospital. Ardie wouldn't like that very much and neither would I. My goal is to have him August 1st. I will be 38 weeks and that would be just great with me.
20 weeks have now gone by quickly. Finding out so early in the beginning the time was moving sooo slow, but now it's picked up and is taking off. So far I've gained 7 pounds, which I thought was pretty good, considering I'm not eating nearly as well as I did with Ardo or working out like I did with Ardo too. But funny enough my Dr was not impressed. My first trimester I didn't gain anything, then around 14 weeks I gained a couple and have been gaining about 1/2 a pound to 1 pound every week. My Dr came in at my 18 week appointment and asked "what I've been doing???" I replied "um eating" I thought she was joking, but then she suggested I walk more and watch what I eat, as in if I'm eating empty calories to cut back. I was a little surprised and laughing at myself because here I thought I was doing soooo well and she was going to be impressed and....no. I told my Dr I wasn't even sure if I could walk or do any of the prenatal exercises I once had because I was afraid of going into preterm labor again. She assured me that right now I was perfectly healthy and my cervix was closed and basically there was no reason in the world why I couldn't get my prenatal work out on. Again I laughed at myself. I was so worried thinking doing nothing would be the best thing and my Dr is basically saying, "Stop being lazy!" So I started walking and started up on my prenatal yoga. Ardo does prenatal yoga with me too, it's hilarious. So here are my 20 weeks stats:

Description of Photo How far along: 20 weeks
How big is baby?: Baby is the size of banana.
Gender: Boy, or baby brother as we call him.
Weight gain: 7 pounds and counting.
Maternity clothes: not yet, trying to hold out as long as possible.
Stretch marks: Not yet but there's always a possibility.
Belly button in or out: Starting to come out but the scar tissue from my belly button piercing is coming out. Confusing I know.
Sleep: It's been great, takes me about 3 minutes and I'm out.
Movement: Yup his wiggles are getting stronger everyday. Jerry felt him for the first time last night.
Cravings: Mmmmm not really.
Miss Anything: A good deli sandwich.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Have you bought anything for baby yet?: Yup, we set up his mini crib and the clothes keep coming.

He saw how fun it was to take pictures by the wall and wanted a picture too! Description of Photo
